So, whether you live in the United States or not, the world changed 7 years ago today. No matter your political views, this can not be denied. In the early hours of September 11, 2001 a plane hit one of the world trade center 's twin towers. The news was shocking, and everyone wondered what could have gone wrong. Then we heard of the second plane hitting the second tower. And then we learned that a plane had hit the Pentagon also.
The only reason the fourth plane never made it to The White House, its original target, was because of the courageous acts of those aboard who had learned of the other planes fates and decided to act.
With these crashes and the subsequent collapsing of the twin towers took the death toll to over 3000. TRAGIC!
Forget politics for a day. Take the time to remember those who died today. And all those who have died all across this world in the name of freedom.
I will never forget where I was or what I was doing on 9-11-01 when I first heard what had happened. I will also never forget the thoughts that went through my head. Despite my location in relation to this tragedy, I wanted to bring my family in close and hold them tight. How thankful I am that I still have them. How my heart aches for those who died then and all those who have died at the hands of cowards who kill innocents!
Take the time to remember.
Have a great day!

I also remember exactly where I was when I heard. It seemed so unreal. Those of us that could, hugged our loved ones, and cried. And cried. And cried.
I have spent a good part of today reading blogs written by people who were there, and saw. Watching videos of the day. Slideshows.
And crying some more.
It's still unreal.
Amen!
You're right. It's just sad because so many from New Jersey died. I know people who have lost loved ones. You're right, though.
It was a comforting comment, B.
what a surreal and tradgic day that was.....
I think everyone and everything changed for our country that day...I know until then I never thought anything could happen to us in our country! I thought things like that happened in far away places...I will never forget all the heroes...all the policeman and fireman...all the very brave man and women who tried to save as many lives as they could!
God bless our brave service people who still serve to protect us!
Beautifully said! Thanks for such a great post!
thanks for sharing this is a great tribute to all... Also please add me to your stalked blog http://coloradodeer.com/
The 4th plane incident showed how quickly people can react and change the rules. From sit back and wait for it to be over to let's do something now.
I've taken the day to remember. Thank you for your thoughts.

It changed my life. Please add me to your Stalked Bloggers list. My blog is new today. Your blog is great,
It was the most shocking thing I'd ever seen. It was horrifying and devastating. I will never forget.
I'm just going to cut and paste what I already posted at Tulsi's. You probably already read it:
I was on day shift, writing a citation. I remember everything about the citation; drivers name, offense, the fact that I voided it and made it a warning instead.
The person I had pulled over was listening to WTOP, our local news radio. I heard it right along with him. He was heading for work in DC. He changed his mind.
About two hours later, I was sent to an area near Great Falls to relieve a road block at Langley with the CIA uniformed police.
The next few days were a blur of securing access to one location or another.
My wife is a retail regional manager, and one of her stores was located in the WTC. She was frantic all morning, but thankfully the store hadn't had a chance to open yet. All of her employees there left safely.
I take time to remember this day every year. You can't help but do that. But I have refused to watch any media coverage, or documentaries about the day. It just makes me to sick to my stomach.
Great post. Such a sad day.
yes, that day and the meaning of our freedom was sealed in blood.
