Things I know

I may have lived 234 years but in the grand scheme of things I realize I know next to nothing compared to what my parents knew at about a 50. I don't know about you, but growing up I could count on a few solid facts. One of those was that my parents knew everything.

When I was a toddler and had questions about how something worked or why something was the way it was, Dad would tell me. And I believed him. It was not till I was older that I realized sometimes certain things were not really the way they were explained to me.

And I understand it now. I cannot bring myself to admit to my children when I do not know something

So here is a list of what I do know, just to make me feel better.

I know:
  • I do not know everything
  • I pretend that I do
  • I weigh more than my "recommended" weight
  • I have a great spouse and wonderful kids
  • reading someone elses blog can help you deal with your own issues because you realize you are not the only one who has challenges
  • A good book is still better than the movie
  • all politicians lie to me
  • more people comment about a blog where I complain than where I am positive
  • The United States of America is still the freest place on earth.........for now
  • we are never alone
  • life is short
  • family is important
  • peace through strength is a good idea
  • I love to run
  • money is not happiness(but I could sure use more of it)
  • most people are still genuinely good(excluding politicians and dictators)
  • I love babies.........especially the ones I can hand back to mom when it is no longer happy. :-)
  • I will never have another baby that is genetically mine
  • I love blogging
  • I am now on facebook....seriously...lol
  • most people do not read this far on someones list. if you do read this....write the word skeptic somewhere in the comments...this should be fun
  • Our military is underpaid and Congress is getting fat off the rest of us
  • The poor in this country are still better off than most of the world.
  • I love New York Style cheesecake with strawberry topping....yummmmmmm
  • Music is the soundtrack of my life. Good music that is.

So, as you may have guessed, I do not know all that much. But what I know, I really know.

What do you know?

Have a great day!

Hope you are having a good summer!

What I know

Is that your blog makes me stop and think.

Sometimes I think some pretty crazy thoughts.

That I am not the perfect writer.

That like you reading someone else's blog is insightful, inspiring, uplifting, helpful and some times plan out funny.

great list... i remember when i was little, thinking that my mom's opinions were actually "fact". then when i was about 16 or 17, i had heard someone else's opinion (someone I looked up to) which was different from my mother's. I was torn. I mean, my mom was my mom. But this lady was EDUCATED. I mean, she had it all. I realized at that moment my mother was verrrry opinionated, haha.

Here's a saying I love: I know what I think I know, but what if I'm wrong?

And Facebook? Woo-Hoot! truly, I thought I'd hate FB, but I actually LOVE reconnecting. I don't accept "friends" unless i really know the person, and I prefer it that way... that being said, any way to get YOU on my friend list?... yeah... didn't think so.

Skeptic-ally Yours,
Not So Usual :)

Welcome to my skeptical world! Took you a while to get here, haha! Basically I'm an optimist but lately, with the political scene what it is, I'm becoming more skeptical all the time. Argggghhhh...and it is SO hard for me to bite my tongue and not SAY anything, too, since I have some very STRONG skeptical opinions! Ah well. As to your comment about "if you've read this far" or whatever, do you know the average time spent reading a person's blog is around ONE MINUTE!? I used to write long, involved entries but that got me to thinking and I've tried hard to get to the short and sweet of what I want to say. At least that way maybe the reading public will get my whole thought, not 60 seconds worth of it! Sheeeeeesh.

I'm usually such a skeptic. I've notice that I don't get many comments at all whether I'm in a sunny mood or cloudy mood. But then most are general facts going on around here. I know that there is a certain age (I won't say what I think it is as someone may be in that age group) that thinks they know everything but they don't know anything but you can't tell them anything to help because they already know everything. Until they pass that age and realize they really didn't know anything at all. Adult age, not teen age.

Politicians can make you a skeptic. Maybe you need to run for office and change things. I'm sure that how most of them started out. Wanting to institute change before they got sucked into the political votex of hell.

I think blogs are awesome, you get to have a look in someone's life, even if it's just little parts.

And about know everything, i think we never will no matter how old we grow up to be.

An honest reflection, Blogstalker!
I agree that it seems that the more I know, the less I know. I know that I'm not alone which is comforting. I know that the sun will rise and with it the hope and possibilities of a new day!

Keep on on keeping on, Blogstalker! :))

I know who you are!

You left just enough clues, I finaly peiced it together. TA-DA!

Don't believe me? Skeptic.

Well then. I also know I have to get the kids out of their cribs. naptime is ovah. Back to work!!

Hey did you try to friend me on Facebook? I ignore people I don't know usually. Unless they write and tell me the reason they're friending me. Wow- wouldn't that be fun if I was your Facebook friend and didn't even know it. So fun.

Share Summer! I wanna know who he/she is! *I'm* your facebook friend so you can tell me! ;)

I'm skeptic about politicians as well. Seems most of them, even from my own party deviate from what is good and right. I no longer view my self in a particular party because I don't want to be associated with them!

I know more than you and that's all I know. teehee
