That song in your head.....

So, I have posted several times about music. Some of you(Emma) have called me out for my music and taken some guesses on who I am based on my music. It has been fun to say the least.

Well, music is a defining part of my life. As I have stated before I feel that there is a song for every part of our life. Life has a soundtrack. We just need to plug in our own music.

In a recent blog visit I saw an awesome post about an old tv sit com. The first thing I did when I thought of the show was start singing the theme song in my head. Do you do that?
I thought it was so funny how I could remember it after not hearing it for so long.

Now I wonder what you all think about this? Are there shows that you just can't help but sing the theme song to? What about other songs in general. Are there some special songs that define certain moments in your life?

I'd love to hear about it.

Have a great day!

The Facts of Life is a big one for me. I loved the show, and can still, all these years later, sing the song.

I can't think of a single other one, though, but could probably sing the song from whichever show you mention.

Music is also a biggie for me. I can always remember where I was when I first heard a song. Or which guy I dedicated it to, danced with, or broke up with during it. lol

Fresh Prince of Bel Air...
"Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down. And I liked to take a minute
Just sit right there,I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air"
It's stuck in my head now... thanks! :)

ya - my whole life is one big sound track and I am constantly "plugging in". All someone will have to do is say a phrase that reminds me of a theme song to a TV show. But one that often runs through my mind is the Theme Song from "The Courtship of Eddie's Father" which is sooooo strange as I was a wee little lady (like 3 or 4 yrs old) when that show was on. The father was played by Bill Bixby, and hardly anyone I know remembers it. "People let me tell you 'bout my Best friend! He's a warm-hearted person who'll love ya till the end!..." Other show theme-songs are "Brady Bunch", "I love lucy", "facts of life", "beverly hillbillies", etc.

and of course, songs are ALWAYS stuck in my head!!!

My kids usually, others sometimes, will say a phrase and I start singing the song of usually and 80's song. They hate saying "don't touch me or don't touch that" because I'll do the "na nanana na na Can't touch this". I've always said that life is a song and usually an 80's song as I know those better. Some Blondie songs get sung. The kids have to explain to their friends, who usually by then have joined in.

The CSI theme is kind of catchy for some reason.

I usually end up whistling the Andy Griffith theme when I am cleaning. Most of the time it's Bewitched for me:)

My daughter watches iCarly all the time and now that theme song is stuck in my head.

Any Journey song takes me back to my very first date.

I definitely make a link between shows and songs and chapters in my life. Gilligan's Island comes to mind. What a silly show!

Full House

And the song that I actually don't care for, but always seems to creep into my head that my sister calls my life song is Wilson Phillips "Hold On"...or whatever it's called.

"Yeah I know that there is pain, but ya hold on for one more day and you break free break from the chaiiiinnnnsss"

Blech.
